PowerPoint the answer for Success

PowerPoint the answer for Success
PowerPoint presentations are everywhere today. I can still remember those huge cards I used to bring when I was in junior high, it was large. I would have to carry around. Things have changed, now I bring my flash card with my PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint presentations are a requirement for any kind of public speaking.
The evolution of PowerPoint was a need. People needed to be more dynamic. Lectures needed to have differentials to get the audience’s attention. I think the article is clear when talking about PowerPoint because I feel I am part of the PowerPoint evolutions. Being always interested in technology, I was the first one to have a PowerPoint presentation in my class. It was a shock to the teacher. I think my group got an “A” because of the presentation. We used sound and animation when people were used to static overheads.
It is interesting the evolution of PowerPoint in my point of view. The article does not describe the changes in resources used to create presentations. Sound and animation are not a amazing effect anymore. Presentations today are simple and quick. Nobody wants to see the words giggling around the screen. I could see also that before speakers would write a lot on these PowerPoint which today would make the audience tired of reading.
Another technology that can be compared to PowerPoint is Online Streaming Videos. Due to this technology lectures have become more efficient and better. The speaker does not need to rent a DVD/Tape from the library to bring to the class. A streamed video can be shown anytime. The disadvantage is that the link may be broken which would ruin the whole presentations, but everything has its ups and downs. Thanks to technology, speakers are able to express themselves better creating a better lecture.
